Alexander Merritt McGee

Alex received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2011, and his bachelor of science, magna cum laude, from Boston University in 2008. In law school, Alex received various awards for his legal writing, including “Best Brief” in the school’s 2009 Fall Moot Court Competition and the 2010 Morris Brown Myerowitz Moot Court Competition. Based on his performance, he was selected to be one of three members of the school’s National Moot Court Team. The team won the regional round of the National Moot Court Competition, where it was also awarded “Best Brief.” Alex still maintains an active presence at the law school serving as an adjunct professor each year during the school’s spring semester.

Upon graduating from law school, Alex began clerking for Domestic Relations Master William M. Dunn in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. As a Law Clerk to Domestic Relations Master William M. Dunn (Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Baltimore, Maryland) Alex prepared bench memorandums that organized case histories and analyzed issues regarding divorce, custody, child support and pendente lite relief.

Alex observed all hearings, scheduling conferences and settlement conferences before the Master and ultimately collaborated with the Master on case dispositions. Alex also has significant experiencing drafting Master’s reports and recommendations, as well as orders, which were presented for the Master’s review and approval. This unique experience equips him with an insiders’ understanding of the court system and the inner workings of the Circuit Court which positions him well to better serve the clients of the Law Office of Julie Ellen Landau more efficiently and effectively regarding family law matters.

Alex was raised in the Baltimore area and has always been committed to serving the Baltimore community.

Since 2003, he has volunteered as a coach for Baltimore County Special Olympics for both its soccer and track programs.
